Learn More About Mrs. Velasquez
“Every child deserves a champion—an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.” – Rita Pierson
Working At St. Vincent’s
Mrs. Velasquez graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Art History. She moved to San Diego in 2015 and began pursuing her lifelong passion of becoming an elementary school teacher. She currently holds two California Teaching Credentials, one in Multiple Subject and the other in Mild/Moderate Special Education. After gaining invaluable experience at a San Diego charter school, Mrs. Velasquez continued her career as a lead teacher at St. Vincent de Paul. She is excited to be beginning her third year as the school’s third grade teacher!
“My purpose of becoming a teacher is to help children grow in their faith, to feel empowered by their learning, and to navigate their challenges with perseverance. With my roots in Catholic education, I believe God has blessed me with the opportunity of joining the St. Vincent community so that I may teach at a school where I feel at home with its administration, faculty, parents, and students. It is a gift to teach, and I will honor this gift everyday I walk into St. Vincent’s.”
